Marlyn Sanchez’s work spans the world of Theatre, Film, Television, Live Concert Performances, and Spokes Modeling. Praised for her pure, strong and timeless voice, her magnetic stage-presence, her free-spirited disposition and Audrey Hepburn elegance she brings beauty, personality and grace back to the artistic forum.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, of Cuban and Lebanese descent, Marlyn (pronounced: mar-leen) was a natural performer as a child. Her inherent, unforced talent has been illustrated before audiences since age 7, at which time she sang and won the title of Little Miss Havana Cuba in her first pageant in Miami, Fla. Since then, Marlyn has nurtured her passion for performing and connecting with the public through Theater. Leading roles she enjoyed performing most include Maria in West Side Story, Guinevere in Camelot, Christine in Phantom of the Opera, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, and Ariel in The Little Mermaid. As a concert artist, Ms. Sanchez had the privilege of working and studying under the direction of Frank Wildhorn, composer of Jekyll and Hyde; Scarlet Pimpernel, and performing his musical compositions in concerts and stages all around the world.
Marlyn’s flair for romancing the camera lens, as well as her audience, led her into Film and Commercial Television. On television, her credits include roles in USA’s Burn Notice, CSI Miami, and various national commercials. Her film credits include a starring role in the recently released feature film “The Empty.”
As a role model in the South Florida Cuban Community, Ms. Sanchez was honored to represent Miss Cuba in the Top Model of the World Competition in 2008. She was announced as The Most Talented Top Model of the World, where she won the Talent Portion of the competition and impressed former Platters singer, Keith Tynes, with her seasoned vocal abilities. Marlyn also holds the title of Miss Caribbean 2009.
Currently, Marlyn is at work with her solo debut album, following the success of her self-produced holiday album, “In the Spirit of Christmas.” She has had the privilege of creating an eclectic and rewarding career out of her passion for the arts.
